The Chamber works to promote community Advocacy by convincing the general public of the value and necessity of business in the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County area while creating a proactive environment for early & open dialogue between government & the Chamber on issues affecting our members.  The Chamber focuses to educate, engage, and mobilize our membership on the issues that affect the business environment through the following:

Inviting elected officials to Chamber events
Hosting Legislative Receptions and Forums
Supporting Dorchester County Day in Columbia
Hosting Grassroots Training and meetings
Providing support through Chamber Public Policy Division
Providing support through Chamber Energy and Environment Division
Providing support through Chamber Workforce Development Division
Utilizing SC Chamber website resources
Activating established phone tree/Grassroots Alert system providing alerts for pertinent legislative issues
Publishing regular articles in local media outlets on important issues
Creating a Speaker's Bureau with core messaging
Hosting Brown Bag Luncheons
