The purpose of the initiative is to connect with small business owners to share the local, state, and federal resources available to support them and their operations.

The Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce together with the  Town of Summerville will host the Dorchester County component of SC SBA’s 46 Counties in 46 Days initiative on Thursday, March 3.

The purpose of the initiative is to connect with small business owners to share the local, state, and federal resources available to support them and their operations.

The Chamber will host a live watch party in the Chamber’s Boardroom in Summerville between 10 am and 11 am on March 3.

The event is free and open to the public, but please confirm your attendance via email RSVP to Kimberly Caughell here: https://www.greatersummerville.org/contact

The event will touch on a variety of topics including business start-up, lending, contracting, and disaster preparedness.  In addition to SBA, the event will include information from SBDC, SCORE, Women’s Business Center, the Procurement Technical Assistance Center, and the Town of Summerville.

The mission of the  GS/DC Chamber of Commerce is to protect and promote the quality of life in the community, with specific emphasis on improving economic vitality and providing a favorable business climate.   We are concerned with protecting established businesses and supporting new business owners by fostering their growth and access to essential information.

“It has been my personal goal as district director to ensure that every county in South Carolina is aware of the resources that are available to them as entrepreneurs,” said Gregg White, District Director of the SBA South Carolina District Office. “Our state is made up of many rural counties that thrive on small business ownership. We want to make sure they are aware of the SBA programs that help them to start, grow, expand and recover their small businesses. By creating this initiative, we hope to send the message that every county in South Carolina is equally as important as the next, and together we can bring small business growth and opportunity to the Palmetto state.”
