“The event signifies the culmination of months of hard work and dedication from volunteers, donors and our staff,” said Jaye Jones Elliott, President and CEO of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity. “The generosity and support of the community have make it possible to transform a vision of stable housing into a reality for another Dorchester County family.”
Brown worked 425 sweat equity hours building their home, other homes and working in the ReStore. She purchased at 30-year, interest-free mortgage that will be paid back to Dorchester Habitat for Humanity.
“This home represents more than just a place to live,” said homeowner Brown. “It is a foundation for a brighter future, filled with hope and opportunity! I am so grateful to all of the volunteers, donors, sponsors and the Dorchester Habitat staff.”
