Matthew Kenwright • July 1, 2022

Mr. Daugherty joins DDTwo with 26 years of experience in education

The Dorchester School District Two Board of Trustees met June 27, 2022, and named Mr. Chad Daugherty as Deputy Superintendent, effective July 11, 2022.

Mr. Daugherty joins DDTwo with 26 years of experience in education that includes serving in Huntington County Community School Corporation (HCCSC) as Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, secondary principal and assistant principal, history teacher, and head baseball coach. He received the Candice Dodson Influencer Award from the State Educational Technology Directors Association for empowering technology educators and championing innovation and creativity.

Under his leadership, HCCSC established eLearning before COVID-19, opened a new $20 million elementary school, built a multi-purpose stadium, expanded the Learning Center that houses career and technical education, and developed a culture that led to the International Center for Leadership in Education naming Huntington North High School as a 2022 Model School. Awarded to just 15 schools across our nation, the honor highlights schools’ focus on relationships, rigorous and relevant academics, and educators’ collaboration and high expectations for students.

Mr. Daugherty received his bachelor’s degree in history, geography, and world civilization from Ball State University, and he also received his master’s degree in K-12 administration from Ball State. He received his education specialist degree from Indiana State University.

“I am honored to serve the students, staff, families, and community members of DDTwo,” Mr. Daugherty says. “Team Dorchester has built an exceptional school district that makes a difference for students, and I am eager to join our phenomenal educators and staff as we grow from the opportunities ahead.”

Mr. Daugherty’s family plans to live and attend school within DDTwo.
