The center plans to break ground in the next 60-90 days.

CHARLESTON, SC – AUGUST 2023 – NAI Charleston is pleased to announce that Welles Worthen represented Worthen Development and Columbia Properties Inc. in the purchase of a ±25 AC commercial tract at Carnes Crossroads with the intention of building a Publix anchored shopping center.

NAI Charleston continues to represent the developers in the lease-up of the shopping center. Will Sherrod, CCIM and Welles Worthen have successfully executed leases on 85% of the retail space during the predevelopment phase to national and regional tenants. The center plans to break ground in the next 60-90 days.

“From identifying the site to bringing in Publix and representing the developers on the sale, it has been a great experience being a part of such pivotal development for Carnes Crossroads,” said Welles. “I am excited for the impact that it will have on the community.”

“The Marketplace at Carnes Crossroads is set up to be a focal point for the Goose Creek market,” said Will. “The interest and activity we have encountered have been substantial and exciting, and the tenant mix promises to offer some terrific additions to the retail needs of the area.”
