October marks SeamonWhiteside’s 5 year anniversary at the Summerville office.

October marks SeamonWhiteside’s 5 year anniversary at the Summerville office.

The branch office is situated in Hutchinson Square in the heart of downtown, conveniently located close to ongoing projects and Town Hall.

The Summerville office opened in 2016 and started with three employees. Over the past five years, the office has significantly grown its team to include six Civil Engineers and three Landscape Architects. The firm also leased an adjacent office space in the building over the past year to accelerate growth within its workforce.

“The Summerville office is a small family within a bigger family. Though we are a smaller team, we are growing rapidly, and it is important to us to preserve this culture of closeness and collaboration that Stuart Whiteside and Kenny Seamon started 36 years ago,” says Jennifer Palmer, P.E., Director of the Summerville office. “I have been with SeamonWhiteside for the past 22 years so I understand how important it is for each and every office to uphold and continue the ‘SeamonWhiteside Way.’ The collaborative nature of this company is truly something special.”

All of the employees in the Summerville office live in Summerville and Dorchester County so the office location made a lot of sense for current and future employees.

"We personally love the Summerville community and wanted to be in the center of it," Palmer explained.

Over the past five years, the Summerville team has seen tremendous growth in its workforce and scope of work.

“Collectively as a firm, we are proud of what the Summerville team has accomplished in not only the growth of their team over these past five years but also the expansion of their client base throughout the Summerville area,” says Gary Collins, Managing Principle of SeamonWhiteside. “They have completed some incredible projects, including Ashley River Park and Hanahan City Park. We are very confident in what they will continue to accomplish in the years to come.”

Significant projects include: Ashley River Park for Dorchester County, Hanahan City Park, Rollings Edwards Community Center, Dorchester County 911 and Emergency Operations Center, and Dorchester County libraries.

SeamonWhiteside is excited to see what the next five years will bring as the Summerville office continues to grow, expands its client base, and completes more projects that serve the community.
