Trident Health Names Christina Oh Chief Executive Officer

Rod Whiting, VP, PR & Communications, Trident Health • April 7, 2021

Trident Health announces it has selected Christina Oh as its new Chief Executive Officer following the departure of Todd Gallati, who served 31 years with HCA Healthcare; 13 of those as President and Chief Executive Officer of Trident Health. Oh joins Trident Health from Abrazo West, Tenet Healthcare’s high acuity flagship hospital in their five hospital market in Phoenix, AZ. Oh begins her new job May 3, 2021.

Oh’s 12 year healthcare career is highlighted by advancing through increasingly complex health systems while improving employee retention and expanding community outreach programs. Her healthcare career started at Hilton Head and Coastal Carolina Hospitals in Hilton Head, SC and included executive positions at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC and Placentia Linda Hospital in Placentia, CA prior to her current position.

“My husband and I are excited to return to South Carolina and to build on Trident Health’s 46 year history of providing compassionate, high quality care to Lowcountry families,” said Oh. “As I start a new job with my new Trident Health family I’m mindful of how they cared for the Lowcountry during the COVID pandemic and did it with love and kindness toward their patients and each other.”

“Trident Health will be in good hands with Christina’s leadership” stated Gallati. “She has led hospitals that have similarly complex specialties as Trident that include trauma, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopedics, oncology, spine and women’s and children’s services. But, just as important, she connects well with patients, staff and physicians. She will be a tremendous addition not just to Trident, but also to the Lowcountry.”

Oh holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where she graduated cum laude. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Baylor University with a Major in Marketing and a Minor in Asian Studies with a concentration in Japanese language.
